“This is an interesting issue, Daniel Levy’s playing is cultured and refined, infusing some of the waltzes with an urban wit, others with a more forthright strength. His Scriabin is graced with numerous felicities of expression, textural contrast and subtly varied tonal palette… “.

Gramophone, UK

“This is a very enjoyable recital. Levy tends to play these popular works as actual dances. His rhythmic pulse is so lively that it is hard to resist the urge to tap a toe, nod a head, or for that matter take a spin around the floor. Levy achieves this by consistently accenting the first beat in the left hand, though not obtrusively. And Levy is not merely an able stylist. He plays with imagination and multicoloured tone, terracing his phrases with fine subtlety.

The performance of the Brahms is as satisfying as any I have heard. Even in the very familiar Chopin Waltzes, Levy coaxes out inner lines that I had not noticed before. Yet unlike other musicians who attempt to apply ‘personality’ to the music they play, Levy never fights the score, and always sounds in sync with the composer’s intentions. Recommended, even if you have these pieces in other collections”.

Fanfare, USA

“Gentle but profound. Weightless yet powerful, as graceful as the flight of Mercury. It’s transparency becomes intensity: this is Daniel Levy’s Walzer”.

Marco Maria Tosolini, Italy
